In a Monday interview with CNBC's Jim Cramer, NASCAR President Steve Phelps discussed his company's new deal with Amazon Prime streaming, saying Amazon is a sticking force in sports distribution. NASCAR announced last year it entered into a seven-year agreement with Prime Video, giving the platform exclusive rights to five of its Cup Series races in 2025. Phelps was "thrilled" about NASCAR's partnership with Amazon, saying the deal was his company's first "pure streamer" at its Cup Series level. Amazon averaged 13 million viewers during its first NFL game last season, with viewership on the platform growing 24% this season. Netflix is set to release a NASCAR documentary series, 'NASCAR: Full Speed,' on Tuesday.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The playoff beard had been shaved off well before fresh-faced Ryan Blaney arrived in Nashville to celebrate his first NASCAR championship. That's a bit fitting, though, as Blaney this year also contributed to two new marks on Penske's impressive motorsports resume. Then you've got to gel with a team.”The breakthrough came in 2017 at Pocono when Blaney beat Kevin Harvick for his first Cup win for Penske. “He won the race at Pocono, it's ironic, racing Harvick and Harvick is retiring now and Blaney is now champion,” Penske said. He spoke with JR Motorsports and Joe Gibbs Racing, but already had an in of sorts at Penske, where Brad Keselowski that year won Team Penske its first Cup championship.

AVONDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Ryan Blaney was fastest of NASCAR's championship contenders Friday in the only practice session ahead of the title-deciding season finale Sunday at Phoenix Raceway. “Ryan Blaney gets around Phoenix really, really well,” said Blaney crew chief Jonathan Hassler. TALLADEGA, Ala. (AP) — Ross Chastain, the runner-up in NASCAR's championship last season, crashed out of Sunday's playoff race at Talladega Superspeedway in a collision with fellow title contenders Kyle Busch and Christopher Bell. Chastain was in a pack of cars racing to the flag that marked the end of the first stage. Busch hit the wall trying to avoid running into the back of Stenhouse, just as Chastain tried to slide through the middle to advance his position. That caused the Chevrolet from Trackhouse Racing to hit the wall and take a second hit from Bell. June 20 (Reuters) - Sergio Perez's seat with Red Bull is safe for this Formula One season, former champion Jenson Button said on Tuesday, but if the Mexican's struggles continue he could be looking for another team next year. Horner also said the team was going to stand by Perez and help him through the slump but Red Bull have not always shown patience with under-performing drivers. DRIVERS SHAKE-UPScenarios are starting to emerge about what a possible drivers shake-up at Red Bull might look like. One rumour has Ricciardo, who previously drove for Red Bull from 2014-18, going from a reserve role to a seat with sister outfit AlphaTauri, replacing under-performing Nick de Vries. Such a move would allow Australian Ricciardo to remove some competitive rust and make a seamless transition back into the Red Bull seat if Perez was dumped.
